South Central Railway (SCR) has advised its engineers to be more cautious near railway bridges and monitor the water levels in coordination with the State government officials in view of the heavy rains forecast. Tracks adjacent to the river banks should be strengthened and regular inspections and counselling taken up for the staff at various levels.

General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav on Monday also complimented officials of Guntakal Division for restoring the breaches in Kalluru-Pamidi and Kalluru–Khadarpet section on war footing with minimal affect on running of trains. All the divisional heads should identify the flood-affected spots especially in the coastal sections and be well prepared to tackle any situation.

With Diwali season ahead, he advised all the officials concerned to be alert and take necessary action to avoid stampede-like situations and improve the systems to manage the rush of passengers. Carrying of inflammable articles like crackers etc., should be prevented. Senior officials were present for the video conference, a press release said.
