Science Express to arrive in city on October 9

The Science Express – Biodiversity special train is scheduled to arrive at Secunderabad railway station on October 9 to coincide with the international biodiversity meet in the State capital. The train will be stationed till October 19.

The science exhibition aims to showcase wide array of biodiversity in the country and different conservation measures adopted. The exhibition also showcases aspects pertaining to climate change, water, energy conservation, environment and legacy of the Science Express.

This apart, the train also houses VASCSC - Joy of Science, a hands-on lab as well as teachers’ training facility. The exhibition will be open for public viewing from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ministry of Railways is operating the fifth phase of this “Science Exhibition-Biodiversity Special”. Mounted on 13 specially designed air-conditioned coaches, the train is scheduled to travel from June 5 to Dec. 22 covering 52 railway stations across the country. The train has already completed its exhibition at Vijayawada and Nellore railway stations under SCR limits, said a release.
