In a mission to bring smiles to a thousand faces, a non-governmental organisation — Krishi Integrated Rural Development Society (KIDS) — under its Back to School initiative distributed school bags and stationery to primary school students at Kasivarigudem and Vadderagudem villages in Tipparti mandal on Thursday.

Giving back to society as a message, the founders of the organization desire to serve the poor in rural areas and at grassroots level where they belonged a decade or two ago.

‘See to read’ — free check-up and eyeglasses, ‘Ideal Guru’ — recognizing and rewarding committed teachers are other ideas, said the NGO’s program director Pradeep Mandha.

Based at Warangal, KIDS was established in 2005. Village sarpanch, school principal, parents and villagers were present at the programme.
