Barely two days before Anjali was crushed under her school bus, her mother Pushpa had complained to the school management about driver Narasimha’s rash driving.

Narasimha had been hired only recently, said Pushpa. “He always seemed to be in a hurry. On Thursday, I had complained about him to the school management. But they never took my words seriously. Today, that is what killed my daughter,” she added.

The L.B. Nagar Police registered a case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder against the driver. Sources said Narasimha surrendered himself before police after the accident.

Meanwhile, workers of various political parties arrived at the Government Hospital and staged a dharna, demanding justice for the victim. Her parents, however, steered clear of the demonstration.
