Parents on Friday lodged a police complaint after the abrupt closure of an unauthorised school in Shamshabad where their wards were studying.
Named ‘Delhi Public School Private Limited’, the school was started in June last year without any official permission. Despite repeated notices from the Mandal Education Officer, the school went ahead with admitting children. While the initial strength was nearly 70 students, it later came down to 30 to 40 students. The school was recently closed down, after it was shifted to the new premises, leaving the future of students in jeopardy. Incensed over this, parents reportedly staged a protest, besides lodging a police complaint. When contacted, District Education Officer of Ranga Reddy M.Somi Reddy confirmed the developments and said that another branch of the school at Rajendranagar too was served closure notices at the beginning of the academic year.
