The State-owned coal mining giant Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) is all set to issue a recruitment notification on September 23 to fill as many as 750 posts in the company.

The vacancies to be filled include 643 workers cadre posts and 107 executive cadre posts, according to the SCCL sources.

The company has filled a total of 5,783 posts of different cadre in the coal mines and various departments of the company in the last two years.

The slew of recruitment notifications issued by the company ever since the formation of Telangana in 2014 forms its major thrust on induction of manpower in line with its aggressive growth strategies envisaging opening of 17 new coal mines/projects to ramp up coal production in the next few years.

The company decided to launch a new recruitment drive on Saturday.

The workers cadre vacancies to be notified on Saturday include 288 posts of fitter trainee, 143 electrician trainee, 69 assistant foreman trainee, 51 turner/machinist trainee, 35 sub-overseas trainee (civil), 24 assistant foreman trainee, 24 moulder trainee, 8 motor mechanic trainees and one melter.

As many as 107 executive cadre vacancies including 68 posts of management trainee (E&M), 37 management trainee (mining), one management trainee (hydro geologist) and one management trainee (geo-physicist) will be notified, sources added.

It may be mentioned that the SCCL had issued a notification for dependent jobs under ‘Voluntary Retirement Scheme on Health Reasons’ in December last year.

However, an unemployed youth filed a public interest litigation in the High Court challenging the constitutional validity of the circular.

The court quashed SCCL’s recruitment notification after finding it violating various provisions of the Constitution.

The Supreme Court subsequently annulled the notification upholding the High Court’s verdict.
