SCCL employees to get 70% wage arrears tomorrow

Follows decision of Coal India, amount paid in October to be deducted

The management of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has decided to pay 70% of arrears of 10th National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA) to its workers and employees on June 14.

The new wage agreement was finalised in October 2017 with retrospective implementation from July 01, 2016.

The Singareni Collieries has been paying new wages to its employees from November 2017 and ₹ 51,000 was paid to each employees from out of the total arrears for the 16-month period from July 2016 to October 2017.

Coal India

According to officials of the SCCL, the company management has decided in tune with the recent decision of Coal India Ltd to clear 70% of the wage arrears. The Collieries management plans to credit the amount to the employees' bank accounts after deducting the amount paid in October last year, income tax and Coal Mines Provident Fund.

The remaining 30% of wage arrears would be paid to the employees as and when the Coal India takes a decision. The coal company has about 54,000 man power.
