The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation on Wednesday unveiled plans to operate a whopping 5,560 special buses between January 8 and 13 for the convenience of people travelling to different destinations from the twin cities.

The specials, pooled from the districts, will be operated from the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS), Central Bus Station (Mississippi Hangar), Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) and Dilsukhnagar, apart from other identified locations across Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

They were in addition to 3,557 scheduled services, he said, asking people to plan their journey ahead and book in advance. Additional Enquiry/May I Help You counters will be set up at all the bus stations, special city shuttles from MGBS to JBS, Uppal crossroads and LB Nagar every 15 minutes would be operated, he added. Passengers may call 23434269, 24614406, 23434263, 23434268 and 9959226257 for MGBS, 27802203 (JBS) 23447297 (Dilsukhnagar) and 7382851969 (Uppal crossroads), 24656430 for Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation services and 24612006 for Maharashtra Corporation services, said a press release.
