Indian Journalists Union (IJU) vice-president Sabina Inderjit has been elected vice-president of International Federation of Journalists (IFJ), a body representing six lakh journalists in 160 countries.
She is the first journalist from Asia to occupy the position and was elected (for 2016-19) at IFJ’s 39{+t}{+h}Congress in Angers, France recently. Daughter of veteran journalist and parliamentarian Inderjit, she heads the Indian News and Features Agency.
Ms. Sabina Inderjit was member of IFJ Executive Committee for the last five terms from 2001 to 2016.
IJU president S.N. Sinha and secretary-general Amar Devulapalli have congratulated Ms. Sabina Inderjit on her election, a press release said.
