Krishna was admitted to OGH with 30 p.c. burns after miscreants attempted to set the bus on fire
The condition of RTC bus driver M. Krishna, who sustained burns when miscreants tried to set ablaze a bus at Miralam Tank late on Monday night, is said to be stable.
Mr. Krishna was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital with 30 per cent burns. However, doctors said he would be kept under observation for two more days.
According to the police, the RTC bus was proceeding to Yemmiganur in Kurnool from Hyderabad when some unidentified bike borne persons pelted stones on the bus and stopped it near the Miralam Tank filter beds.
The miscreants then sprinkled petrol on the bus and torched it.
Mr. Krishna sustained burns on his hands, chest, neck and legs. But, the panic stricken passengers managed to clamber down to safety through the windows.
A resident of Yemmiganur, Mr. Krishna, was operating the bus hired by the APSRTC for the last four years.
Meanwhile, the police registered a case under sections 147, 148, 307, 353, 427, 435 r/w 149 and have launched a manhunt to nab the miscreants.
