RTC bus mows down pensioner at Dilsukhnagar

A 70-year-old woman was crushed to death under the wheels of a speeding RTC bus at Dilsukhnagar bus depot on Tuesday morning.

Police said Mallamma of Vanasthalipuram disembarked the bus at Dilsukhnagar to proceed towards Chaitanyapuri to collect her monthly pension.

While she was crossing the road, the RTC bus came from behind and rammed her.

Death was instant for the elderly woman, the police said.

Man found killed

An unidentified person was found murdered at an open place in Medipally on Tuesday morning. Police said the assailants killed the victim, aged around 35 years, by smashing his head with a boulder. He was clad in blue jeans.

Police preserved the body at Gandhi Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
