The long-pending works at the cistern of Mecca Masjid will be completed within a week, and the amount of Rs. 1.30 crore sanctioned for developmental works at the mosque will be realised shortly, Minister for Minorities Welfare Mohd. Ahmadullah said here on Thursday.

The Minister along with officials of APCPDCL, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Revenue, Police and Minority departments held a meeting at the Mecca Masjid to review the arrangements being made for the holy month of Ramzan.

Mr. Ahmadullah inspected the mosque and the ongoing tile-fixing works being taken up at the cistern.

Speaking to reporters later, Mr. Ahmadullah said special arrangements were being made for prayers at the mosque, and that control rooms would be set up to monitor the arrangements.
