Row over TV serial shooting

Artistes and technicians of three different TV serials staged a demonstration before Narsingi police station on Monday alleging that the police had disrupted their shooting.

The police, however, maintained that they acted on a complaint from the public stating that shoots of the three crews created nuisance in Secretariat Colony of Puppalaguda. “Moreover, none of them had secured permission from police to carry out the shooting at a public place,” Rajendranagar ACP, A. Mutyam Reddy, said.

On receiving complaints that the TV serial teams were creating nuisance by parking vehicles on roadside and power generators with heavy noise, the Narsingi Sub-Inspector P. Anjaiah went to Secretariat Colony. On enquiry, he found they didn’t obtain permission from the police.

As the SI took away a camera of one of the teams, the latter rushed to the police station and squatted before the building. The agitation was called off after the police higher-ups explained to them that the film or serial shooting at public place required permission.
