Row over local status of 193 Secretariat staff

Seemandhra employees claim they had studied in Telangana and they are entitled to local candidate status as per Presidential Order

May 21, 2014 11:36 pm | Updated 11:36 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

The Telangana Secretariat Employees Association leaders have raised objections over the local status of about 200 Secretariat employees uploaded in the General Administration Department website for verification on Tuesday.

The GAD uploaded the local status of employees in the ‘Single Unit’ of Secretariat before the provisional allotment of employees to Telangana State as part of bifurcation. Of 1,865 employees listed, 805 employees hailed from Telangana.

The Telangana employees association leaders Narender Rao, Sravankumar Reddy and others submitted a representation to the GAD Special Chief Secretary here on Wednesday disputing the Telangana local status of 193 employees.

Mr. Sinha assured them that teams would be constituted to verify the local status details with the service record. The Seemandhra employees, however, refuted the charges about fake certificates and said they had studied in Telangana and their educational certificates were issued by government institutions and they were entitled to local candidate status as per the Presidential Order.

Meanwhile the Finance department in the Secretariat on Wednesday uploaded the local status of 278 candidates with 164 employees belonging to Telangana.

If any one felt the information was incorrect, he or she could represent to the Additional Secretary, Finance, with due signature and reasons by 12 noon on May 22, it said.
