The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) has stated that it is trying to complete restoration work for the roads, that were dug up for pipelines in different parts of the twin cities, on a war-footing.
Board managing director M. Dana Kishore on Monday directed senior officials to complete the remaining stretches within 10 days so that citizens were not put to inconvenience during the monsoon. Of the 1,300 km roads dug up for pipelines taken up utilising the HUDCO loan, length of 1,030 km was restored and everyday 10-km road repair was being done.
Joint coordination teams with GHMC officials were formed to look into the repairs. Mr. Kishore said 29 vehicles were exclusively positioned for monsoon emergencies and an additional 12 vehicles had joined the fleet, a press release said.
