Revanth questions motives behind his removal from party posts

Says announcement to the effect was made in the absence of TDP president

TDP MLA A. Revanth Reddy, who was removed from the post of the party’s working president and Floor leader in the Assembly, questioned the motives behind the party State leadership’s decision to strip him of the posts in the absence of TDP president and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.

Mr. Revanth Reddy came to the Assembly on Thursday and was closeted with some senior party leaders in his chambers. He was welcomed by senior Congress leaders when he was on his way to the room earmarked for the leader of the TDP Legislature Party. Mr. Reddy ensured that he did not occupy the chair meant for the Legislature Party leader during his stay in the Assembly.

When asked whether he was attending the floor coordination meeting with the BJP, he wondered how the two parties decided to conduct a meeting in a star hotel when they had designated rooms in the Assembly. Moreover, what was the motive behind entering into a coordination with the BJP at a time when the saffron party’s leaders, including its president Amit Shah, made it clear that there would be no truck with the TDP in Telangana. “Who has prompted the meeting when it was clearly told that the question of alliance between the two parties does not arise? Which invisible forces have brought the two parties together?” he reportedly asked.

Mr. Reddy was upset over the decision to strip him of the posts and wanted to know the reasons behind the announcement that was made in the absence of Mr. Naidu. “I had been fighting against the TRS and cases were foisted against me. It is surprising to see some party leaders speak in support of the TRS president who is harassing the TDP and its cadre,” he said.
