Remove Musi encroachments, says High Court

Several persons filed writ petitions complaining that they have right over the land in their occupation and the officers are trying to evict them

A division bench of the High Court comprising Chief Justice Kalyan Jyoti Sengupta and Justice K.C. Bhanu on Monday directed the State government to take steps to remove the encroachments on the Musi river bed. The Bench was disposing of a PIL filed in this regard along with the batch of writ petitions filed by some persons who are facing action from the officers. Several persons filed writ petitions complaining that they have right over the land in their occupation and the officers are trying to evict them.
