Religious custodians of Baad Shahi Ashoor Khana have appealed to the State government to remove an advertising board erected recently on the monument complex’s exterior platform.

Mir Nawazish Ali Moosvi sought the intervention of Department of Archaeology and Museums and that of GHMC to have the board removed while claiming that it is a violation of the Act protecting historical monuments.

Court battle

The Ashoor Khana complex was earlier the subject of a court battle between the monument’s management, the Archaeology Department and others who operated small stores on the platform.

Following court orders to remove encroachments at the complex, the department with police assistance, removed the squatters and cleared the premises.
