Regular drives to checkencroachments

The GHMC intends to take up drives to remove encroachments periodically to ensure that the road margins and footpaths are kept free of obstructions.

“Unless we do it regularly, the encroachers would not feel the heat,” observed senior officials on Thursday. As many as 3,328 encroachments have been removed by special teams in the last two days. Of them, 1,104 were bunks; 1,708 were sheds and 418 were permanent structures or platforms.

The drive on Thursday was conducted on the roads of Habsiguda, Santoshnagar, Osmangunj, Mehdipatnam, Asifnagar, Masab Tank, Ek Minar Masjid, Aghapura, BHEL junction, KPHB Colony, Shapurnagar, Kanajiguda, Neredmet crossroads, Uppal, S.D.Road, P.G. Road, RTC crossroads, Mythrivanam, Road No.11 & 10 Banjara Hills, Filmnagar, Kondapur, etc.

On Friday, the obstacle removal drive would be taken up on the roads of M.G. Road, Safilguda, West Venkatapuram, KPHB colony, Serilingampally railway station, Fatehnagar, Balanagar junction, Nizampet, IDPL colony, Raidurg junction, Srinagar colony, Krishnanagar, Punjagutta, S.R.Nagar, Greenlands, Ameerpet, Fever Hospital, YMCA (Narayanaguda), Kacheguda junction, Mehdipatnam, Nanalnagar, Gudimalkapur market, Koti, etc.
