R&B Dept. clarifies

February 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - HYDERABAD:

There was no laxity on part of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department with regard to maintenance of its roads in the monsoon and all efforts were made to maintain them in a traffic-worthy condition in GHMC limits, the department clarified on Thursday.

In response to the news item which appeared in these columns, Executive Engineer (R&B), G.Janardhan Reddy said that the condition of most of the R&B roads was “far superior” to the condition of the GHMC roads. “Unmindful of bad condition of its own roads, the GHMC has been projecting the R&B Department in bad light only with a vested interest of taking over the roads,” he maintained.
