A mention by a BJP member about terrorist attacks in the city created flutter in the Telangana Assembly on Tuesday when he stated that a part of the city was turning into a mini-Pakistan by giving shelter to terrorists.
The remarks attracted strong opposition from MIM members instantly, forcing Deputy Chief Minister Md. Mahamood Ali to request Speaker S. Madhusudana Chary to expunge the comments from records, and the Chair announced expunging the same immediately.
To prevent any exchanges between the members of the two parties, the Speaker adjourned the house for a tea break.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, the BJP member said several terrorist attacks had taken place in the city in the past, including the blasts at Sai Baba temple, Lumbini Park, Gokul Chat and Dilsukhnagar, and every time terrorists linked to the incidents were caught in a particular part of the city and thus it was turning into mini-Pakistan.
Recently, a terrorist was caught in the vicinity of a party’s office, he said.
The remarks provoked MIM members to go on their toes, shouting against the BJP member and ultimately the Speaker had to expunge the unsavoury comments.
