A mobile publicity van of the Police Department set off on its journey as part of a campaign to create awareness on the 2nd Indian Police Martyrs’ Memorial Run (IPMMR) to be held in Hyderabad on October 15.

Collector Lokesh Kumar and Commissioner of Police Tafseer Iqbal flagged off the vehicle at the district police headquarters here on Friday.

The vehicle would go around the district to give publicity to the ensuing IPMMR among all sections, particularly the youth. The IPMMR would feature 2k, 5k and 10k runs. The events would be organised at Necklace Road in Hyderabad on October 15 as a prelude to the Police Commemoration Day slated for October 21. Those desirous of participating in the events can register their names on www.policerun.in .

PEDDAPALLI Special Correspondent adds: The campaign vehicle of the second edition of Indian Police Martyrs’ Memorial Run, organised by the Telangana State police in association with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, reached the Ramagundam Police Commissionerate in Godavarikhani on Friday. Ramagundam Commissioner of Police Vikram Jeet Duggal flagged off the vehicle which would tour Peddapalli and Mancherial districts and inspire people to participate in the memorial run to be held in Hyderabad. The run is being organised to remember the supreme sacrifices made by the police personnel. Mr. Duggal said there were three categories of run – 2k, 5k and 10k – and asked people to register online for participating in them. He said they would provide free transportation for participants if they inform them in advance. Peddapalli DCP Vijayender Reddy, AR Additional DCP Praveen Kumar, AR ACP Nagendrudu, Inspectors Vijayasaradhi, Venkateshwarlu and Vasudeva Rao and others were also present.

ADILABAD Special Correspondent adds: Nirmal Superintendent of Police Vishnu S. Warrier on Friday flagged off the publicity vehicle for IPMMR.
