Employees of Telangana origin posted in Andhra Pradesh created a mild flutter on Tuesday when they staged an impromptu dharna in front of the State Secretariat.

A delegation of the Class IV employees who were sent to work in AP Secretariat at Velagapudi and other departments in the neighbouring State assembled in front of the Secretariat here seeking repatriation to Telangana. As many as 888 Class IV staff, including 233 working in the AP Secretariat and another 655 in other departments, had been representing to the Government for their repatriation to their place of origin since past nine months. of their allotment to the neighbouring State.

There was assurance from the Government on ensuring their repatriation to their parent State, but no step had been initiated in that direction so far. Frustrated, a delegation of the Class IV employees representatives staged a dharna to mount pressure on the government. As they raised slogans seeking action on their demand, they were arrested by the police who shifted them away from the secretariat.
