Protests continued at Osmania University on Wednesday against the proposal of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao to construct houses for the poor people on 11 acres of land on campus.

Activists of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad held a signature campaign at the administration building of the university against the proposal. A group of students went to the building to meet the Vice-Chancellor to submit a memorandum. As they could not meet him the activists went around the administrative building and collected signature of the staff.

At the Arts College buildings, MRPS activists burned an effigy of the Chief Minister after taking out a mock funeral. Around 50 activists participated in the programme.

Meanwhile, the Osmania University Unemployed Students Joint Action Committee (OUUSJAC) announced that it will hold a protest meeting on the campus on Monday. J Kalyan, chairman of OUUSJAC said that around one lakh students from across the State will participate in the meeting.
