Property worth lakhs of rupees gutted in fire

Property worth a few lakhs of rupees was gutted in a fire accident at a private company in Balanagar on Wednesday.

According to the fire officials, fire broke out on the second floor of MTAR Technologies Limited in the morning. The administrative office of the company is located on the second floor. Office equipment, records, computers and furniture were gutted down in the mishap.

The fire control room received a call at 7.30 a.m. and four fire tenders from Jeedimetla and Sanathnagar were rushed to the spot. It took three hours for the fire officials to put off the blaze, Sanathnagar fire officer M.A. Shareef said. Officials suspect short circuit to be the reason behind the accident.
