With at least 75% to 80% of the 1.5 to 1.7 million graduates passing out every year from 3,000 engineering colleges in India — and dreaming of the IT workforce and industry — seeing minimal chances of success after their studies, there is a dire need for professional guidance and skill intervention.
Identifying this need, India’s leading youth career accelerator TalentSprint and The Hindu together organise ‘What Industry Wants’, a series of monthly talks aimed at bridging the gap between industry and soon-to-be-professionals.
This month, the talk will be delivered by Senior Vice-President and Global Head of the Cognizant Academy, A.N. Rao at the Himalaya venue in the IIIT campus at Gacchibowli at 2.30 p.m., on September 9.
Those interested can register by contacting the number 70328-05499 or email to itcareers@talentsprint.com with the subject ‘#WIW-September, 2017).
The online registration link is www.talentstprint.com , a press release said.
The format of the event is that the industry captains address fresh graduates on what the industry expects from their new recruits, how the industry is changing and about emerging trends.
Further, they will also cover upcoming career opportunities, both with Indian and global perspective.
While the entry to the event is free, those interested need to register in advance because seats are limited and the only expectation from participants is that they should attend the event on time and derive the most value through the interaction.
