Once applauded for its rapid industrialisation and then receiving harsh criticism for pollution and its effect, Patancheru has been in news for some reason or other. Its location as a key point on the Mumbai Highway from the city also adds certain value to the Assembly constituency which has two divisions Patancheru and Ramachandrapuram.
Both the divisions are in a way are part of residential clusters.
The problems have been plenty for residents in terms of road conditions, sewage lines and only in last few years, did some attention appear to have been paid in improving conditions here.
For Patancheru division, the contestants in fray include K.Manjula (Praja Rajyam), K. Shanker Yadav (Congress) and Sapan Dev (TDP) and the fight could end up as an extremely close finished one.
In the adjoining Ramachandrapuram, all the parties have entered candidates and apart from K.Kavitha (BJP), the others wooing voters in this division reserved for women include B.Pushpa Nagesh (Congress) and Girija Anjaiah Yadav (TDP).
