Private hospitals agree to continue Aarogyasri services

Govt to clear Rs.100 cr in couple of days

Private hospitals in Telangana have agreed to continue their services to patients under the Aarogyasri scheme, following their talks with Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy here on Saturday night.

The talks were held between representatives of the Telangana Hospitals and Nursing Homes Association (THANA) and officials of the Health Department led by Principal Secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari in the presence of the Minister. The hospital managements’ association agreed to the government’s proposal of clearing their dues in phases and monthly bills at Rs.40 crore every month in addition to release of Rs.100 crore this month.

Dr. Laxma Reddy stated that the Rs.100 crore would be credited to the accounts of hospitals in two or three days. The two sides agreed to discuss other issues, if any, at another meeting.
