Member of Legislative Council Ramulu Naik has alleged that the private doctors are exploiting patients coming to hospitals by charging heavy fee.

Participating in the general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad here on Tuesday, Mr. Rumulu said: “They are operating upon and charging anywhere between ₹ 15,000 and ₹ 20,000 when tribal women are coming to hospital with stomach pain. This is horrible and need to be arrested immediately. If not, the health of women will be at stake.” He has urged the authorities to get the details from government hospitals on how many patients are being referred to private hospitals. Medak District Collector Bharati Holikeri said that private hospital managements were seriously warned about unnecessary uterus removal and C-section operations. Deputy Speaker M. Padma Devender Reddy warned of strict action against such doctors.
