Manmohan Singh congratulated Anup Kumar Yama on becoming the first-ever Indian to win a gold medal in the recent World Artistic Roller-skating Championship.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh congratulated Anup Kumar Yama on becoming the first-ever Indian to win a gold medal in the recent World Artistic Roller-skating Championship when the latter called on him in New Delhi on December. 7, a press release said.

It was a “wonderful and golden opportunity to meet the Prime Minister,” city-based Anup said. “Dr. Singh was thrilled with my achievement and was happy that India was doing well in a sport like roller-skating,” Anup said. He also handed over a copy of all his achievements over the years in international and national events. “The meeting has encouraged me to dream big and work hard to win many more laurels for the country,” he said.
