Pregnant woman killed in accident

A 35-year-old woman died after being hit by an auto rickshaw at Falaknuma on Monday afternoon. The deceased, identified as Padmaja of Gandhinagar in Falaknuma, was walking on the road when she was hit by an auto rickshaw.

The woman, who was eight months pregnant, fell and sustained injuries. She died on the spot, the police said. The police registered a case and are trying to trace the auto rickshaw.

Woman kills husband

A woman killed her husband by hitting him with an iron road on Sunday night, after the latter sold her mobile phone, the police said.

G. Venkatesh and G. Suguna, who are construction workers, live at Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar in Saidabad police station area. On Sunday evening, the duo consumed toddy at their house. Around 11 p.m, Venkatesh took the mobile phone of his wife and sold it for Rs. 500. He then headed to toddy shop and brought more liquor and consumed it. When Suguna came to know that her husband had sold off the mobile phone, she picked up a quarrel and later attacked him with an iron rod on his head resulting in his death, Inspector Saidabad K. Sattiah said.
