Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Thursday went out of the way to woo MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi by promptly giving reply to the issues that were raised by the latter during a meeting on Wednesday night.
The Congress, which is reportedly sceptical about getting a majority in the Assembly elections, has started consulting “friendly” parties seeking their support to form the first government in Telangana. The TPCC chief had also consulted CPI secretary K. Narayana asking for support.
Mr. Lakshmaiah in a letter to Mr. Asaduddin said that he had discussed with officials about late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s package for development of Old City. “We are getting a report from all the four departments that are involved in the development,” he said.
On Krishna water phase III, he said requirements of the Old City drinking water would be met with construction of five reservoirs with two MGD capacity.
The TPCC president said new State of Telangana would bring a draft bill regarding prevention of hatred and preserving communal harmony.
