Nude dances, acts, films, obscene gestures and the like are prohibited and should not be part of New Year celebrations organised in hotels, resorts and pubs, Cyberabad police said on Tuesday.

Obscene posters or semi-nude advertisements should not be made use of for marketing the events. DJ music is also not permitted. The magnitude of sound from loud speakers should not exceed 45 decibels, police said.

At a meeting held with event organisers here, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C.V. Anand said couples of registered members and their acquaintances were only permitted. No single person would be permitted.

Liquor shall not be served without permission from the competent authority. Prior police permission is necessary for the event that should only be held from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m.

“Posters and hoardings shall not be displayed at public places unless it is approved by us,” the Commissioner said.

Spectators would not be allowed to indulge in drunken activity or misbehaviour. Breath analysers would be used to check drink-drivers.

Video records, preferably CDs of minute-by-minute proceedings with built-in time and dateline from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. till dispersal of the audience should be submitted at Commissioner’s office within two days of the completion of the programme. The licensee has to put up surveillance cameras, employ both door-frame and hand-held metal detectors on the premises.

The managements should engage sufficient personnel persons for security and traffic management. Use of firearms and burning of crackers would not be allowed.

“Licensee would be held responsible for any disorderliness, violence, injuries, loss of life etc. and he would be liable for prosecution in case of any such incident,” Mr. Anand added.
