Police to question Akbar

The Andhra Pradesh police on Friday issued notices to Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen legislator Akbaruddin Owaisi directing him to appear before the investigation officers of the Nirmal (Rural) Police in Adilabad district on January 7 and the Nizambad II Town police on January 8.

This is to facilitate investigation into Owaisi's ‘hate speeches,’ which kicked up a furore.

Mr. Owaisi, the younger brother of MIM president and MP Asaduddin Owaisi, is currently away in the United Kingdom for medical treatment.

The policemen pasted the notices on the walls of his house in Banjara Hills after the inmates refused to receive them.

The issue of notices came close on the heels of filing of another case in Osmania University police station on Friday following court directions.
