January 10, 2014 11:27 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 06:04 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Investigators probing the alleged rape case of a dancer from Mumbai recorded her statement here on Friday.

The victim came to the city by train on Friday and met Central Crime Station (CCS) sleuths who recorded her statement.

“We are examining her statement to zero in on those involved in the case,” said City Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma.

Four special teams were formed to investigate the case. The victim reportedly told investigators that she could not locate the place as she was engrossed in talking on her mobile phone.

Four persons took the woman to an undisclosed place in the city after she landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad and sexually assaulted her.

Footage from surveillance cameras at the airport was also being examined.

The dancer was brought to the city to perform in connection with the New Year celebrations. She said that the accused also took away her rings, mobile phone and ATM card after committing the crime. The police reportedly identified four persons, including the event manager, who had invited the dancer to the city for the New Year event.
