Nearly 1,000 physiotherapists from Telangana and other parts of the country will participate in ‘Physio Utsav’, which will be held at Gandhi Medical College on Sunday.

A national-level conference on the science of physiotherapy would be organised as part of the event, Telangana Physiotherapists Association general secretary Laxmi Narsimhulu told reporters at a press conference on Thursday.

1,000 students to attend

One thousand students pursuing physiotherapy courses in different colleges of the State would also attend the meeting.

Top leaders of political parties, including Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, and Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya would address the gathering and discuss issues related to the profession.

‘No posts’

“There is not a single government college for physiotherapy and no posts of physiotherapists in government hospitals are being filled,” Mr. Laxmi Narsimhulu said.
