Pfizer to set up R&D facility in Hyderabad

The drug manufacturing company Pfizer has expressed interest to expand its vaccine business in Telangana, at a Bio-international Convention that is currently going on in Philadelphia.

The company could set up a facility in Hyderabad to support research and innovation in the near future. In an interaction with Telangana Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, who is attending the meet, Pfizer officials expressed their interest in working with the State government on initiatives that focus on promoting healthcare innovations, a release issued by his office said on Wednesday.

The Minister also inaugurated the “Indian Pavilion” at BIO international convention, Philadelphia on Wednesday. The pavilion showcases government of India’s make-in-India policy to provide major thrust in biotechnology, pharmaceutical and agri-biotechnology companies. The BIO exhibition features more than 1,700 exhibitors and over 60 State, regional and country pavilions, the release informed.
