Krittika Jyotsna is relieved she doesn’t have to take the test any more. Thrice unlucky, the 28-year-old cleared the Civil Services Examination in her fourth attempt, bagging the 30th rank in the all-India exam while topping the State.
She spoke to The Hindu after results were announced on Thursday evening.
“In my second attempt, I reached the final interview stage but could not get selected. I was unwell that time so I was not demoralised. Since I thought this was my last attempt I decided to give it my best shot, but never expected to get such a good rank,” she exclaimed.
Born in Karimnagar and raised in Hyderabad, where she did her schooling, Krittika did her graduation and postgraduation in Delhi.
Family inspiresShe does not have to look too far for inspiration and guidance. Her father, S.B.L. Mishra, is an IFS (Indian Forest Service) officer and presently Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, Telangana.

Method of study“I did not study for more than six hours a day. In fact, I did most of the preparation on my own and made my own notes. However, for the Mains exam I took the guidance of Gopal Krishna of Brain Tree academy,” she revealed.
The challenge aheadHooked to embroidery and books during her leisure time, she wants to serve the nation well as an IAS officer.
“It is a challenging job but I will work with complete dedication and determination,” she said.
