The lengthy quest of the Salar Jung Museum for a suitable place to permanently display the Nizam's jewellery has finally ended. Authorities have zeroed in on the Quli Qutb Shah Urban Development Authority (QQSUDA) building right behind the museum to house the priceless gems.

At a high-level meeting recently held at Secretariat a decision was taken to hand over the QQSUDA building, a heritage structure, on lease to SJM.

The dilapidated building spread over 3 acres belongs to the GHMC where its old office used to function earlier.

The QQSUDA will be shifting its office to Nandimuslaiguda in Yakhutpura where it will have its own building. The government has agreed to give Rs. 2.5 crore to the QQSUDA.
