Pedestrian killed in road accident

A 38-year-old pedestrian was killed after a Skoda car hit him and later crashed into a military fencing before coming to a halt at Ibrahimbagh under Golconda police station limits on Satu-rday night. Five others in the car also sustained injuries.

The car coming from Ibrahimbagh hit the victim A. Manohar, a paramedic at Golconda Area Hospital and resident of Bandlaguda while he was crossing the road, inflicting grievous injuries on him. Passers-by rushed him to a private hospital where doctors declared him dead on arrival, police said. Police shifted the car to the police station and registered a case against the car driver.

One killed, 3 hurt

In a separate incident, one person was killed died and three others injured after a reversing van hit motorists at Rethibowli.

The deceased was identified as Mohammed Jameel Ahmed.

The injured – Ibrahim, Ramesh and Shaik Sayeed – were admitted to a private hospital, police said.

The accident occurred when the van driver, who is absconding, was proceeding towards the Water Board office atop the hill at Laxmiguda, said Langer Houz Sub Inspector K. Ananthaiah.
