The actor is continuing to play the political cards close to his chest

The very mention of Pawan Kalyan brings to mind, images of a maverick -- non-conformist, rebel and one-of-a-kind actor. While rumours of his political ‘arangetram’ are flying high and thick, the actor is continuing to play the political cards close to his chest.

Director Trivikram Srinivas, a close friend of Mr. Kalyan, says nothing has fructified yet. “He has got political ambitions. The cloud of uncertainty hanging over his plans will blow away soon,” says the ace director of blockbuster movie ‘Atharintiki Daaredi.’

A few persons very close to the actor assert that he would certainly float a new party.

“He is even planning to field new faces in select Assembly segments across Telangana and Seemandhra regions. He is likely to choose Malkajgiri Parliamentary constituency for himself to enter the poll fray,” an insider in the actor’s camp revealed.

While Mr. Kalyan is weighing his options before taking the plunge into active politics, the fact that he has been in the forefront voicing his opinion on issues of public importance cannot be wished away. He was seen venting his ire against “inadequacies and inequalities” in society at various public fora.

After joining hands with his elder brother Chiranjeevi to float the Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) in 2008, the actor directed his energies to form ‘Yuva Rajyam,’ a youth force. But soon, the disillusioned actor snapped ties with the PRP. He later went on to form ACF, Anti-Corruption Force.

The speculations surrounding the new party notwithstanding, a digital media organisation ‘WhackedOut Media’ ran three social media opinion polls on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. In the poll as to whether they wanted the actor to enter politics, 60 per cent of respondents wanted to see him as an actor and while 15 per cent wanted him to don the political robes and 25 per cent wanted both.

While 11.9 per cent wanted him to launch a political party, those who wanted him to join none were 21.6 per cent. Respondents who wanted him to join the Telugu Desam were pegged at 22.4 per cent while 16.6 per cent wanted him to go with the Lok Satta.

Meanwhile, the actor is busy with pre-production work on ‘Gabbar Singh 2.’ He is also working on the Telugu version of Bollywood movie ‘Oh My God!’ which he will co-star with actor Venkatesh.

Pawan Kalyan who demonstrated moral values is a good sign entering politics. I
prefer Pawan Kalyan supporting "Loksatta" if not AAP.

Its good that a good guy is entering into politics. Its very good if he supports
loksatta. Rest of the parties are either cast based or money based. Educated & mass
will definitely realize if he joins Loksatta. If not AAP is could be the next good option.
If he is not trying to form a govt people does't recognize him or his efforts. Fielding
independent MLA's is not a good option. People never look at them or independents
don't stay with him.

BJP is not a option to save unity and diversity of India.

It is all family tactics to take care of the interests of their family
as they are in hyderabad. What credentials he has except to take votes
on his caste name. Better support TDP at least so that he will get some
sympathy as his brother lost credibility. People are not fools to vote
for Pawan kalyan. They want to sit in Hyderabad and rule seemandhra.
Seemandhra people should not vote anybody who has permanent residence
in Hyderabad or Telangana.
