Pawan Kalyan has supporter in Ram Charan

March 07, 2014 10:45 pm | Updated November 16, 2021 09:34 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

Amidst strong rumours that ‘all is not well’ in the Chiranjeevi’s family, Ram Charan Tej sprang a surprise by batting for his uncle Pawan Kalyan. The actor said he would support his uncle in any endeavour he would take up.

Responding to a question at an event organised here on Friday, he said that he would always support ‘babai’ (uncle) and that he would not let him down. Ramcharan’s remarks assume significance, considering recent reports on the widening divide between Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi.

Meanwhile, amid rumours that Pawan Kalyan is floating his party at Hitex here on March 14, the maverick actor’s office issued a statement saying that he would convene a press conference in the second week of March. The actor is set to speak extensively on his future political plans. The release said there were no differences between Pawan Kalyan and Chiranjeevi, and sought to dispel the notions that he had snapped ties with his elder brother.

In a related development, CPI State secretary K. Narayana welcomed the likely entry of Pawan Kalyan into political firmament. “The more the merrier,” he said when asked about his reaction to reports that Mr. Kalyan was setting up his political party.

In a tongue-in-cheek remark, however, the CPI leader said unlike seasoned political leaders who have more patience, actors expect “instant results.”
