Passport is citizens’ right: officer

Passport is not a privilege but the right of every Indian citizen. The Ministry of External Affairs has simplified the procedures to get passport so that all the citizens of the nation will have a passport without any hassle, said Regional Passport Officer E. Vishnu Vardhan Reddy on Tuesday.

Integration of Aadhar system for obtaining passport has transformed the process for the benefit of citizens, he said at the valedictory function of the mega passport mela conducted for the employees of the South Central Railway (SCR) through which about 5,252 passports were issued.

South Central Railway General Manager Vinod Kumar Yadav handed over the passports to the Railway staff and assured them of more such melas for the benefit of staff, a press release said.
