A galaxy of stars from Telugu film industry turned up in full strength to pay tribute and felicitate the prolific writing duo of Paruchuri brothers in a glittering event organised by T. Subbarami Reddy Lalithakala Parishat at Shilpakala Vedika here on Sunday.

Telugu actors, producers and directors took the centre stage to praise and congratulate Paruchuri Venkateswara Rao and Paruchuri Gopalakrishna for writing 333 movies in a span of 33 years. In a unique gesture, the Paruchuri brothers first felicitated the actors, directors and producers before accepting felicitations in return.

Speaking on the occasion, T. Subbarami Reddy said that very soon several branches of Lalithakala Parishat will be set up in various parts of the State to encourage art and culture. “Paruchuri brothers have done a lot to the Telugu film industry. And the huge turn out of best actors to this programme only reflects the kind of respect these two have in the film industry,” Mr. Subbarami Reddy said.

Actors including Chiranjeevi, Mohan Babu, Balakrishna and Venkatesh showered praises and recalled their association with the two. “They are unique because Venkateswara Rao is gentle and Gopal Krishna is on the extreme side. Both have harnessed these qualities to create a unique writing combination in Telugu film industry,” Chiranjeevi said.

Actor Balakrishna recalled how his father late N. T. Rama Rao convinced the two brothers to work together. “It was my father who gave the name Paruchuri brothers and since then they have not looked back. There unique dialogues have helped build careers of actors like us. It is fitting that the whole film industry has turned up to felicitate them,” he said.

Akkineni Nageswara Rao, D. Rama Naidu, Krishnam Raju, Murali Mohan, Urvasi Sarada, Roja, Anjala Zaveri, K. Raghavendra Rao, Tatineni Rama Rao and many actors and members of the Telugu film fraternity were present.
