Panel to select TSERC chairman, members

The government of Telangana on Thursday constituted a three-member selection committee for selection of Chairman and Members of the Telangana State Electricity Regulatory Commission (TSERC).

The committee will be headed by Justice P. Swaroop Reddy, retired Judge of AP High Court and Chief Secretary of Telangana State Rajiv Sharma and Chairperson of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Neerja Mathur will be its members. The Principal Secretary (Energy) will be convenor of the selection committee.

According to the GO issued by Principal Secretary (Energy) S.K. Joshi, the committee will finalise the panel of two suitable persons for each post of the Chairman and two Members in the Commission as per the provisions of the Electricity Act, 2003, and will submit its proposals to the government within three months.

Meanwhile, officials in the Energy Department said applications have been invited from suitable candidates for Chairman and members posts of TSERC and the details were made available on the department website. August 18 is the last date for submitting applications.
