May 27, 2010 05:15 pm | Updated 05:15 pm IST - HYDERABAD:

A three-member committee consisting of GHMC Additional Commissioner (Advertisement), Zonal Commissioner and City Planner of the Zone concerned has been formed to regulate the advertising policy including permitting hoardings/unipoles, lollipops, kiosks, bus shelters, foot over bridges, etc.

Commissioner Sameer Sharma issued orders decentralising powers here on Wednesday to the committee and also the zonal commissioners concerned to ensure transparency, financial propriety and prompt ad fee collection.

The panel will invite tenders and conduct open bid auctions to lease out space in various types of municipal properties.

It will also identity properties feasible for advertisements. ZCs will process the applications for hoardings/unipoles and forward them to the head office for final approval .
