Panel reviews arrangements for Iftar hosted by govt.

Mr. Khan requested all the concerned to cooperate with the government in making the Iftar programme a success.

The task force committee on Iftar being organised by the Telangana government on Sunday reviewed the arrangements for the dinner to be hosted in 100 mosques across the city besides in Nizam College grounds on July 12.

Chairman of the committee, A.K. Khan, who is the Director General of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), had a meeting with religious leaders, imams and representatives of mosque committees in the Haj House.

Commissioner of Police M. Mahender Reddy, Secretary (Minorities Welfare) Syed Omer Jaleel, Director of Minorities Welfare Mohd Jalaluddin Akbar, Special Officer in State Haj Committee S.A. Shukoor, Joint Commissioner of Police M. Siva Prasad and police officials of Hyderabad and Cyberabad participated.

Mr. Khan requested all the concerned to cooperate with the government in making the Iftar programme a success. He asked the mosque committees and religious leaders to bring shortcomings in the arrangements, if any, to government’s notice so that they can be rectified in time.

Stating that women were also likely to turn up at mosques for special prayers, he asked the police authorities to make necessary arrangements to prevent even incidents like jostling during distribution of clothes by the State government on the occasion of Ramzan.
