Brace yourselves against traffic snarls on Sunday as hundreds of weddings are to be performed on the auspicious day of ‘Chiluku Dwadasi’.

Marriage halls at Tarbund in Secunderabad, Sikh Village, Bowenpally, Karmanghat, Champapet and Gudimalkapur, among others will be decked up with flowers especially brought from Bangalore for the purpose.

Right from putting up the arch, to welcoming guests to the main ‘mandap’, organisers are leaving no stone unturned in making the occasion a grand success.

Astrologer Bhaskhara Batla Venkateswara Sharma explains that ‘Chiluku Dwadasi’, during ‘Karthika Masaam’, is considered auspicious to perform weddings as the day is dedicated to worshiping the ‘tulsi’ plant and observing the ritual of ‘tulsi vivah’.

“Weddings will be conducted during the ‘abhijit muhurtam’ between 11 a.m. and 12 noon,” he observed.
