About 64.5% of the total 57,40,044 farmers with clear patta landholdings of over 140 lakh acres received new pattadaar passbooks-cum-title deeds given by the State government. They also received the investment support cheques of ₹4,000 per acre under Rythu Bandhu scheme in the 11 days of distribution exercise till May 20.
According to officials, 20,39,863 farmers were yet to receive the new land documents and investment support cheques at gram sabhas conducted in 10,556 villages from May 10 as the farmers who turned up and took the documents and cheques was only 37,00,181 till May 20 evening. The government has made arrangements for distribution of passbooks and cheques at Tahsildar’s offices for the next one month.
Officials stated that the distribution of investment support cheques pertaining to 2,98,870 acres of land held by 91,988 farmers under Recognition of Forest Rights (RoFR) would be taken up now. The government has prepared cheques for all the 58.33 lakh farmers having clear patta and RoFR lands with the total aid amount of ₹5,739.73 crore.
The eight participating banks had been asked by the State government to get over one lakh cheques with glaring errors re-printed so that they could be distributed to the farmers concerned along with printing of cheques in case of farmers whose Aadhaar numbers were not linked to their pattadaar passbooks.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday expressed satisfaction over the successful distribution of cheques under Rythu Bandhu scheme as well as distribution of pattadaar passbooks. He also called for a high-level meeting with the officers and ministers concerned to review implementation of the programme as also to draw a strategy for effective completion of passbook distribution and investment support scheme.
The meeting would be held at Pragathi Bhavan on Tuesday from 12 noon. It would also review the life insurance scheme proposed to be introduced by the Government for the benefit of farmers. Guidelines for the life insurance coverage for farmers would be formulated based on the discussions with the LIC of India authorities.
