Options being explored to locate Chinnari

Officials are exploring three options to locate 18-month-old Chinnari who slipped into borewell at Ekkareddyguda of Chevella in Rangareddy district.

As attempts by different agencies, including National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) failed, they decided on Saturday evening to send a three-dimension camera into the 450-foot-deep borewell to trace the girl. “A reddish object was seen at 12 feet in the borewell. Till 100 feet, no signs of the girl's presence was seen using regular cameras,” a police officer said.

A three-member team of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation visited the rescue operations site and explored different plans to ascertain exact point where the girl could have been stuck. Officials are also banking hopes on making a parallel tunnel to the borewell using the earth moving machines. The third alternative is to drill the borewell again by increasing its diameter and check at different points. Authorities are also planning to drill another borewell parallel to the present one and connect both at different levels to locate the girl. “We need consent of the parents to carry out some of these plans,” officials said.
